Winding threads -small stone 8

The silky strand slides easily between my fingers
Unravelling the skein, holding light tension,
Wrapping carefully on the card.
Then a snag,
a catch,
a snarl,
which threatens to become a knot.
Stop, do not force or pull too hard.
Gently untangle, untwist and clear the muddle
Releasing the smooth straight thread.

Winding threads on to card bobbins ready for stitching can be very soothing and relaxing – until I hit a snag, and get in a tangle…
