Holding hands – small stone 28

Two hands touch
Each feel the warmth of the other.
One still strong, fleshy and firm
One weak now, clawed, skin stretched
Over old bones.
They meet without words
And speak of a lifetime.

A special moment in the hospital today.

  3. Very moving hand-to-hand warmth! Cheers, Laura

  4. Wonderful. It is what life is. I recall holding my grandfather’s nicotine stained slender hand when aged 11 yrs, our last contact. This piece is definitely a moment in life, a stepping stone.
