Borrowed designs – small stone 18

Carefully I trace the patterns on a pieris flower
With my black pencil on translucent paper
I borrow  its beauty from a photograph
To create designs for a  sewing class.

I stop, look again
And consider gratefully
The subtle colouring and delicate intricacies,
Hidden art which just grew, quietly.

The joy of digital photography which allows me to capture beauty from the garden and use it in my own creations.  I  feel very humbled by such amazing designs which I so easily pass by, and  my fumbling attempts to recreate them only increase my wonder and awe.
